General Membership Meeting

Tulsa Select Hotel

February 7th, 2009

 

Meeting was called to order at 3:45 P.M. by President Mike McGrew

followed by an invocation by Jim Loomis and the Pledge of Allegiance by the membership.

Roll call of Officers found all present except: Jerry Casey, Dave Wofford (knee injury),

Lowell Roberts (celebrating 50th Wedding Anniversary) and Charles Hudecek (severely broken ankle).

 

Unfinished Business:

Mike McGrew - President   -- None

 

Clarence Weber - None

 

Mary Osborne - Secretary  -- The minutes of our last meeting were on the website.  Motion to accept

the minutes by Dusty Brummitt, and seconded by Jim Loomis.  Approved as written.

We still need correct addresses and also email addresses so that we can correspond with all of the

membership in an efficient manner.

 

Loretta Loomis - Treasurer  -- The treasurers report was handed out at the beginning of the meeting.

Motion to accept the report by Frank Bellizzi and seconded by Dusty Brummitt, approved as provided.

 

Jerry Casey - Past President  -- Not present.

Matt Kelm - Sargent at Arms  -- None

 

Dave Wofford - Editor, Newsletter  -- Not present, but email addresses are needed for everyone as all were lost when

my computer crashed.

 

John Ruperd - Education Director  -- None.

 

Frank Bellizzi - Director West  -- None.

 

Gary Frame - Director Central  -- None

 

Jim Loomis - Director East  -- None.

 

Lowell Roberts - Legislative Action Committee Chairman  -- Not present but some new legislative issues bear watching

 

Dusty Brummitt - Licensing Education and Training Committee Chairman  -- None

 

New Business:

Mike - Plans are in progress for our 40th Anniversary Celebration, to be held at the

Distributor Show February 2010.  Registration and advertising are started.

 

Clarence – We have several verbal commitments for the 2010 Trade Show, but no signed contracts yet.

 

Mary – 5 applications were reviewed but 3 were placed on hold as the individuals were not present at the meeting.

            2 Applicants, Thomas Warrior & Darrell Butler, were accepted and sworn in as new members

 

Loretta - Bills from this weekend need attention.  Motion by Frank Bellizzi and seconded by Gini Weber

to pay our bills,  unanimously approved by the members.

 

Jerry - Not present.

 

Matt - None.

 

Dave – Not present - We need information from all the members and we are trying to get information out to all the

members.  At present the best way of getting information is on our website.

 

John – working on several classes for the upcoming months

 

Frank – commented, “IDN Acme furnished lunch, be sure to thank them”.

 

Gary - None.

 

Jim - None.

 

Lowell – Not present – Construction Industries Board (CIB) has presented revised rules for approval and adoption

And they could affect us.  This is the start of the legislative season, so watch for any bills or

activity that could affect us.

 

Dusty – Nothing at present

 

Failed to swear in Frank.  Need to form nominating committee for officer elections in November 2009

 

Good of the Order:

 

Jackie and Lowell Roberts 50th Anniversary was February 6,2009.  We wish them all the happiness on this

special occasion.

 

Drawings from Vendors were exceptional and we would like to thank each and every one of them for supporting us.

 

The meeting was then adjourned.

 

Our next meeting will be held in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the Biltmore Hotel on May 2nd, 2009 after the classes.
