OMLA 40TH Anniversary celebration

Our Black & White affair was held at the Biltmore Hotel in OKC on Friday February 5th, 2010

and was a rousing success.  Charles & Debbie started setting up the banquet room on Thursday

and completed it Friday afternoon.  The pictures below show the setup they designed and some

of the events that took place.

Because of the snow storm the weekend before, our keynote Speaker, Lt. Gov. Jari Askins,

had to alter her schedule and speak earlier so she could keep a commitment postponed from

the week before.  So we wouldn't lose the opportunity to host her, we moved her time slot up

to right after the opening.

Once our speaker concluded her comments, we began the abbreviated meeting by re-affirming the

oath to our new Officers.  The Editor is missing from the shot because I'm administering the oaths.

The meeting was then placed in recess to allow the folks to eat their meal.

Someone went to a great deal of effort here and they were really good too!!

As the meal time completed, the meeting was brought back into session and the awards were

handed out for those who had been members for more that 20 years.  Plaques were presented

to the past President and VP for their service and then the Kenny Lee Award was presented

for 2009 to Mike McGrew for his involvement with the Association over the years.

The Kenny Lee Award for 2010 was awarded to Wilma Lee (Kenny's late Wife) for all her

efforts over the years in supporting Kenny and the Association through education.  needless

to say, Kenny struggled with words to share and was obviously surprised and greatfull.

ALOA presented a plaque to OMLA for our support of ALOA and the education process

as an affiliate member.

Then a very special plaque was presented to Tim McMullen from OMLA for all his hard work

and dedication to protecting the Locksmith Industry and our licensing process.  To say he was

amazed and speechless is an understatement!

Once this part of the program was completed, the dispensing of door prizes began and there

were a bunch.

The festivities ended with music and some dancing around 11PM.
