The Alarm and Locksmith Advisory Board met on march 5th, 2007 at 0905 am. The following items were discussed :
Members present were: James Perry, Mike Nelson, Bob Carrol, Matt Schue, Steve York, and Rick Brown.
Members Absent: Paul Juneau, Drake McDannold, and LaRue Medders.

The Following Items were Discussed:
b) All Proposed changes to 310.205 have been submitted to the O.S.D.H. commissioners for approval and if approved by them submitted to the OK State Legislators for their approval
c) OKBFAA has requested the State Fire Marshal Office be contacted to see if anything can be done to decrease the amount of time it takes to have plains approved by the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
d) OMLA was requested to speak on HB2773, This bill in its original form would have required all Prime and General Contractors, Subcontractors, Independent Contractors, and Persons engaged in contract labor, who through negotiations or Competitive bidding, enter into contracts to furnish labor, materials, or both and who have the required equipment to perform the contract. At this time that version of the bill has completely changed and is no longer a threat to any of the locksmiths, Access control, CCTV, and Nurse call companies in OK.
e) SB45 CCR2 was discussed. The Board was informed the house had passed the bill and sent it to the Governor and he had signed it on March 4 2008. This bill will take affect on 1 Nov. 2008. It will allow all Lumber yards to do anything a Licensed Locksmith does at this time but with out going through any of the License back ground check, license process or paying any of the Fees.
f) Matt Schue was appointed as the Director of the Occupational Licensing Division. Mr. Schue will continue to sit on the Alarm and Locksmith Industry Committee as the Commissioner’s Designee.
