The monthly Alarm and Locksmith Industry
Advisory Board meeting for July 2010 was held at the
Oklahoma Department of Health, in room #806 , on
Chairman, Rick Brown called the meeting to order at
First order of business, Rick Brown introduced the two newly
selected members to the Advisory Board and all
others present.
They are Charles Hudecek, and Zeke Lay. They are
replacing Steve York & Drake McDonald.
Secretary, Lori did the role call and a quorum was established.
Then Rick Brown moved for approval of last month’s minutes, and
they were approved.
Next, the board moved to the review of company applications. There were only six applications on the
agenda.
Five of the companies were approved, and one was tabled until the
next meeting. There were two Locksmith
companies in the group:
Precision Lock, LLC - in
When the application reviews were completed, Rick moved to old
issues (business), and there was none.
There were no comments or issues for discussion from the general
public.
Next, Rick moved to discussion from committee members. First, Mike Nelson addressed what the AD-HOC committee
was doing, and when he’d finished, Rick turned the floor over
to Charles Hudecek to bring the committee up to date
with legislation news. Charles advised the board that
HB-2320 had been signed by the Governor, and so had HB-2331.
HB2331 allows law enforcement to impound a person’s vehicle
if it is being operated without the insurance coverage
required by State law.
The vehicle remains impounded until the owner can provide proof of valid
insurance coverage.
