The monthly Alarm and Locksmith Advisory Board meeting for June 2010 was held

at the Oklahoma State Department of Health in room #806 on June 2nd. 2010

 

The meeting was called to order by Rick Brown at 9:11 am.

 

First order of business was approval of last months Minutes for May 5, 2010, And they were approved.

 

Next, Rick moved to the review of New company applications.

There were 8 companies up for review. None of them were Locksmiths!

One of the applications was tabled for review.

Nick Silk appeared before the board to review his past history. He had an old felony charge that was over

13 yrs old.  He had made restitution 13 yrs ago and had been out of trouble since.  The board and Matt Schue

had Mr.  Silk explain how he got the charge and events since then.  It was a non violent charge and he had

turned his life around since then.  The board was satisfied with his answers and granted him a company license.

 

Next, Rick brown moved into New Issues, and there were none.

 

Next, he moved to Old Issues & discussion from the general public.

 

Matt Schue addressed the spokesman for the ADHOC Committee.

The discussion was to make sure out-of -state companies met the State’s requirement for insurance.

Next, Mike Nelson got up and discussed the items that the ADHOC committee was going over.  None of the

items deals with Locksmiths. All for the Items were for fire alarms and fire sprinklers.  Most of it was about tagging

requirements, and some discussion on residential systems.

Drake McDonald spoke up from the board stating, “We want all companies to have a licensed manager present in

our State to do work here”.  Matt Schue explained there were some issues with that right now. And it was being looked into.

Then Charles Hudecek spoke to all in the room stating HB2320 was on the Governor's desk for signing.  He also said the

Governor is moving forward on installing traffic cameras all over Oklahoma, and that the State was going start installing

them in OKC & Tulsa first.  He mentioned also that the State had made some changes to the laws dealing with uninsured

motorists.  He then told about SB573 & SB1012 passing the house. These bills will help sub contractors get paid.

 

Rick Brown said the next meeting was going to be on July 7, 2010 in room #806 at the Oklahoma Health Dept., and called

for a motion for Adjournment.  The motion was made and the meeting was adjourned at 10:45am.
