Alarm and Locksmith Industry Advisory Board Report for May 5th, 2010

The meeting was held at the Oklahoma Health Department building, 8th floor , room # 806 .

Rick Brown called the meeting to order at 9;05 am on 5/5/2010.

Bob Carroll & Paul Juneau came in late.  James Perry was the only Board member not present.

Rick Brown called the meeting to order and moved for approval of last months minutes. They were approved.

He moved next into review of new company applications.

There were only 5 companies up for review and none of them were locksmiths.

All were approved.

Rick moved to New Issues and there were none.

Rick moved to Old Issues.

Mike Nelson got up and presented what the Ad-Hoc committee was working on.

They were working on new standards for central stations according to NFPA 72.

Mike Nelson, Matt Schue, and the Board had some discussion on this subject.

Then Rick Brown brought up House Bill 1307, and Rick looked to Charles to explain what was going on

with the bill.  Charles turned the floor over to Paul Conrady.

Paul told the Board about the meeting Matt, Paul, Charles, and reps from AAA had.  Paul said that with the

help of all present, they got AAA to pull their amendment from 2320, and AAA will be looking to DPS to

see if they could be allowed to do lockouts, and keys?

Charles spoke on what the Construction Industry Coalition was currently involved in.

Paul Conrady spoke to the board on the new Lead Paint rules, and how if we disturb more than 6 square feet

of a surface on a older home that might have lead paint present, it would have to be treated the same as if there

were asbestos present, and how costly it could be to the Industry.

Rick asked for discussion from the general public, but everything had been covered under old issues.

Rick moved for adjournment, and the meeting ended at 10:04 am.

The next meeting will be on 6/02/2010 in room #806 at the Oklahoma Health Dept. at 9:00.
