DOL Special Notice: Rick Flanigan, the Safety Standards Director for ODL has asked us to provide you with this special notice:  "I would like to announce that the Oklahoma Department of Labor licensing division will be at the Tulsa branch of ADI at 4731 S Memorial on June 4th all day in order to take pictures for your new license and assist applicants with their renewals. We will be able to accept payment and applications at that time as well, however we will not be issuing the actual license at that time. We will bring the applications back to the Oklahoma City office for processing and your license will be mailed to you".  The new License requires a picture with proof of Identification via 2 forms of photo ID.  If not using the State DOL office in OKC, a list of Remote Identification locations is available via this link.  License issue is available in OKC.  A two week delay is involved using the remote sites, as they are picture ID only and forwarded to the State office in OKC for issue.  The  new proposed rules for the Alarm and Locksmith Industry are available for viewing via this link.  Licenses must be renewed prior to July 1st, 2013.

CIC Survey: The Construction Industries Coalition is seeking information pertaining to the Fire Marshal plan review process.  If you've had experiences with, or are involved in this process, please take time to complete the CIC_Plan_Review survey It will prove very important to this Industry, as past issues have shown.  Thank you in advance for completing the Survey.

CIC Video on new law:   A new law requiring out-of-State contractors to meet certain requirements to bid and do jobs here in Oklahoma went into effect today Nov. 1st, 2012.  You can watch a video addressing the new law and how to help ensure its effectiveness by going to this link new law for out-of-State Contractors and watching it.  It's very good, I watched it today before posting it.

2013 Annual Distributor's Show:  Was smaller but successful

A Note from our Vice President:  Due to health reasons, Dusty has tendered his resignation as Vice President and Education & Training Liaison.  Ron Bada has agreed to serve as the Liaison, and the President, via the Board will appoint a new Vice President.  Dusty will continue to assist until a replacement is put in place.

Director Elections:  The newly elected Directors are: Frank Bellizzi - Director West, Gary Frame - Director Central, and Jim Loomis - Director East.  Officer elections will be held in November.

Legislation: HB 1866 moved the Alarm & Locksmith Industry to the Department of Labor from the Health Department  effective November 1, 2012.  ODOL Enforcement contact is Rick Flanigan at 405-521-2612 or 888-269-5353.  Licensing is Bettye Finch at 405-521-6855 or main Swt bd 405-521-6100.  Keith is still with enforcement working for Rick.

Membership dues for 2013 are now due (by May 1st) so non-current members will be moved to the inactive list after that date and must be re-instated to active status by paying their dues, the re-instatement fee ($10), and be present at the next meeting to be voted on by the membership.
